Pre-printed Tapes – 75+ Designs From Stock, Single Rolls Available
Why send a silent parcel when it could say something? Pre-printed tapes arrive with finished designs and slogans – no logo needed, no artwork, no printing plate, no 36-roll minimum. You pick the message, we ship the rolls. Nine themed ranges, from "thanks for your order" through birthdays and Christmas to museum and art transport – over 75 designs on PVC or paper, orderable from 12 rolls. For anyone who wants a more personal shipment without investing in their own printing plate. 🐉
What is pre-printed tape – and when is it worth it?
Pre-printed tape is packing tape that already carries a finished design: a slogan, a symbol, a message. Unlike custom printed tape with your logo, you need no artwork, no color approval and no plate of your own. The designs already exist, the plates were made long ago – you simply order what suits your shipment.
That makes pre-printed tape the pragmatic answer in three situations. First: you want to upgrade your shipping but don't have (yet) the budget or the volume for your own plate. Second: you need something seasonal – Christmas, Valentine's Day, Black Friday – that disappears again after the campaign and would never pay back a dedicated plate. Third: you need a functional message that has nothing to do with your brand and everything to do with the contents: "fragile," "this side up," museum labelling.
And to be straight with you, there's also the case where pre-printed is the wrong call. If your goal is recognition – if someone should see the parcel and know who sent it without reading the label – then there's no way around your own logo. A "thank you for your purchase" is nice, but it belongs to nobody. Your logo does.
Pre-printed or your own logo? The decision aid.
Both routes end in a parcel that says more than "there's goods in here." The difference lies in lead time, quantity and exclusivity:
Pre-printed tape
- Finished designs, over 75 to choose from
- From 12 rolls per design
- No plate costs
- No artwork, no approval loop
- Nine themed ranges
- Design is not exclusive
- Ideal for seasons, tests, small runs
Tape with your own logo
- Your logo, your claim, your color
- From 36 rolls
- Plate is a one-time cost, then free
- Artwork plus proof for approval
- PP, PVC or paper, up to 3 colors
- The design is yours alone
- Ideal for lasting recognition
The honest advice from our control monster: anyone shipping regularly and building a brand is better off with their own logo – the plate cost lands once and amortizes across the reorders. Pre-printed is strong wherever things are seasonal, functional or one-off. Plenty of shops run both in parallel: logo tape as standard, pre-printed tape for the Christmas campaign.
Nine themed ranges – from thank-you to depot
Over 75 designs, sorted by the occasion you need them for. A quick tour of which range fits when:
Thank You & Orders
The e-commerce classic. A thank-you tape says thanks at the exact moment your customer is holding the parcel – not three days later by email, when the order is long forgotten. "Thank you for your purchase" across the seal costs you nothing extra and is the one advertising message nobody clicks away.
Unboxing & Fun
Tape with a slogan plays the emotional register. Messages that turn tearing a box open into a small event. Especially effective with audiences who photograph their unboxing – your carton becomes content that other people produce for you.
Birthday
Birthday tape with "happy birthday" and anniversary numbers. Relevant for anyone shipping gifts: florists, fine food, personalization shops, gift-box subscriptions. Handy too when you send customer gifts or anniversary shipments yourself.
Christmas
Christmas tape is the Q4 classic – and a good test case. If you want to find out whether printed tape lands with your audience, the Christmas season is the point of highest parcel volume and highest emotional attention. Just plan early enough; November is too late.
Love & Valentine's Day
Love tape with hearts and messages. Beyond Valentine's Day it's a year-round theme for jewelry, wedding supplies, lingerie, greeting cards – anywhere the product already carries a love story.
Seasonal Promotions
Halloween and Black Friday tape for the short, intense peaks of the year. Promotional days are over before a dedicated plate could pay for itself – which is exactly what pre-printed tape is for. The parcel signals from the outside that there's something from the campaign inside.
Sustainability
Designs such as "sustainably packed," "I'm recyclable" or "I'm a recycled box" – each on brown and on white tape. Important: the eco tape range is the only themed range that isn't PVC but paper, 50 mm × 50 m, with a solvent-free natural rubber adhesive. Per our data sheet it takes the same route as the carton – paper recycling or residual waste, depending on what your waste contractor specifies. Popular with natural cosmetics shops, organic retailers, fair-fashion labels and zero-waste stores that ship online.
Museum & Art Transport
The specialist range. Museum tape solves a problem nobody outside art logistics has ever heard of: full crate or empty crate? Anyone standing in a depot in front of fifty identical transport crates wants to see it from the outside – not find out by opening them. Relevant for museums, galleries, auction houses, art shipping agents and exhibition builders.
Colored Packing Tape
Sometimes color is enough. Colored tape carries no print, just a shade – and still works as recognition when that shade is your house color. It's also practical as a warehouse code: different colors for different shipping methods, returns or priorities. If you want to hit your corporate color exactly, take a look at the custom colors.
PVC or paper – two materials, nothing else.
Pre-printed tapes come in exactly two materials: PVC and paper. No PP, no filament-reinforced version, no special constructions – those exist only in custom printing. That sounds like a limitation but it's a deliberate choice: these two cover what pre-printed tape actually gets used for.
PVC with natural rubber adhesive carries most of the designs: 50 mm wide, 66 m long, industry standard, fits every common dispenser. For printed tape, PVC has one advantage you only notice in a direct comparison: the smooth, slightly glossy surface makes print colors look more brilliant and contrast-rich than matte PP. A red heart on PVC is red. On PP it's reddish. PVC also unwinds more quietly than hotmelt PP, grabs cardboard immediately and tears cleanly by hand – no cutter, no swearing at the packing bench.
Paper carries the Sustainability range: 50 mm wide, 50 m long, kraft paper with a solvent-free natural rubber adhesive. That isn't a whim, it's logic – an eco message on a plastic tape would be a hard sell. "I'm recyclable" belongs on a tape that can take the same route as the box. Per the data sheet that route is paper recycling or residual waste, depending on what your waste contractor specifies.
The 16-meter difference in roll length isn't an oversight, by the way, it's material physics: paper is thicker than PVC film, so less of it fits on the same core diameter. Calculate roughly a quarter more roll changes with paper – and plan your quantity accordingly.
Want one of these two materials with your own design instead of a ready-made slogan? Then continue here: PVC tape with logo or paper tape with logo. The full material program is open there, including PP and reinforced paper for heavy boxes.
What a printed parcel actually achieves
Let's run it soberly rather than handing out marketing talk. A roll with 66 m of length seals roughly 40 to 80 parcels depending on box size. Every one of them passes through a sorting center, gets carried by a courier, lands on a desk or in a hallway and is opened there. That's several visual contacts per shipment – with no cost per click, no ad blocker, no bidding war.
The second effect is the opening moment. When someone opens a parcel, their attention is undivided for a few seconds – a state you cannot buy in any other channel. What's written on the box during those seconds helps decide whether the shipment gets filed as "goods arrived" or as "nice company."
And the third, which tends to get underrated: printed tape makes tampering visible. Where a continuous design runs across the box seam, a second closure is immediately obvious. For art transport, high-value shipments and anything with goods-in inspection, that isn't a side effect – it's the actual point.
Frequently asked questions about pre-printed tapes
What's the minimum I have to order?
Pre-printed tapes come in packs of 12, stepped at 12, 24, 36, 72 and 144 rolls. That puts you well below the minimum for custom printed tape, which starts at 36 rolls. No plate costs apply to pre-printed designs – the plate already exists.
What's the difference to tape with my own logo?
With pre-printed tape you choose from finished designs: no artwork, no plate, no approval loop, from 12 rolls. With tape carrying your own logo you get your design in up to three colors, exclusively, from 36 rolls – for which you need artwork, a one-time plate and some lead time for production and approval.
What material are the tapes?
PVC or paper – there are no other materials among the pre-printed designs. The PVC tapes are 50 mm wide and 66 m long, with natural rubber adhesive. The paper tapes in the Sustainability range are 50 mm wide and 50 m long, with a solvent-free natural rubber adhesive. PP and reinforced paper exist only in custom printing.
Will it fit my dispenser?
Yes. 50 mm width is the industry standard and fits every common hand or bench dispenser – our hand dispenser with 2K rubber grip, for instance. With the paper designs from the Sustainability range, a dispenser with a serrated blade gives the cleanest cuts, though tearing by hand works too.
Can I combine several designs?
Yes – the minimum applies per design, not per order. So you can put twelve rolls of "thank you" and twelve rolls of Christmas into the same basket. Plenty of shops keep exactly this kind of small assortment and reach for whichever roll suits the occasion.
Do I get the design exclusively?
No. Pre-printed designs are available to all customers – that's the price for dropping the plate and the minimum quantity. If you want a design nobody else has, the design service combined with custom printed tape is the right route.
How long does delivery take?
The current lead time is stated on each product page – please check there, as it varies by design and material. In principle, pre-printed tapes skip the time needed for the artwork check, proof and approval that custom printing requires.
Can I buy pre-printed tape as a private individual?
No. Only genuine business monsters order here: we sell exclusively to entrepreneurs under § 14 BGB, not to consumers under § 13 BGB. All prices are net, plus statutory VAT.
Are the designs available in other colors?
The designs come in the color combinations shown; the Sustainability range is available throughout in brown and white. If you need a specific color, two routes lead there: single-color colored tape, or your own design via the custom colors, where we convert your code from CMYK, HEX or RGB into Pantone.
Which monster will it be?
Pick a design, pick a quantity, done – with pre-printed tapes there's nothing to upload and nothing to approve. Not sure whether pre-printed is enough or your own logo is the better investment? Give us a call: our monsters take questions Mon–Fri from 08:00 to 17:00 CET, and the contact form stays awake around the clock. And if you want to compare materials before committing, the sample set brings PP, PVC and paper to your desk to touch. 🐉
